WWE Royal Rumble 2015 Predictions

Royal Rumble 2015Craig Wilson, Jamie Lithgow, Brian Damage and Russ Morgan

It’s Royal Rumble time. Tonight 30 superstars will battle it out for the chance to go to Wrestlemania to challenge the WWE Champion. Will it be Roman Reigns or will Daniel Bryan get that Rumble win a year late or is someone else in the mix? Elsewhere, Brock defends his title against John Cena and Seth Rollins, The Ascension face the legendary New Age Outlaws and more.

Pre-Show: New Day vs. Tyson Kidd & Cesaro & Adam Rose

Craig: Ugh. Poor Cesaro being relegated to this. What’s worse, he’s likely to be on the losing side.

Winners: Those that skip the pre-show.

Jamie: I’ve seen this match several times already, haven’t I? What is WWE’s obsession with booking tag teams against each other in various forms before sticking them on a PPV card and expecting fans not be bored because they are watching the same match they saw on television several times over the last two weeks?! Anyway, with Kingston, Woods, Kidd and Cesaro involved I do expect this to be well worth watching, despite the best efforts of those booking the show.

Winners: Tyson Kidd, Cesaro & Adam Rose

Brian: Did you hear that loud pop for New Day on Monday Night Raw? Yeah…me neither. The New Day is already like week old stale bread. Adam Rose, Tyson Kidd and Cesaro need the victory more so than New Day. Somehow though I think Vince is thinking the opposite.

Winners: New Day

Russ: Pre-shows are boring…

Winners: Tyson Kidd, Cesaro & Adam Rose

WWE Tag Title match: The Usos (c) vs. The Miz & Damien Sandow

Craig: Well this match is fresh… Poor Usos. Champions of a division of very few teams and stuck in a programme with a comedy act. Little wonder they have little credibility as champions.

Winners: The Usos

Jamie: What did I just say?! There are rivalries and then there’s the shame shit repeated over and over. This is the latter. Was it Jimmy or Jay Uso who’s Mrs was hanging out with The Miz, or something? Either way, I bet she turns heel on them here.

Winners, and new Tag Team Champions: The Miz & Damien Mizdow

Brian: I see the Usos retaining here and the Miz and Mizdow to start their split up….just a guess.

Winners: The Usos

Russ: Love The Usos. Can see Miz and Sandow breaking up soon. Miz needs to be a singles wrestler again.

Winners: The Usos

Paige and Natalya vs. The Bella Twins (Nikki Bella and Brie Bella)

Craig: Another tag match, huh? This is all about Total Divas! and the promotion of that for the WWE. For us it’ll be a toilet break and a replenishing of drinks. A shame considering how good both Paige and Nattie are.

Winners: Probably the Bellas

Jamie: The moment Paige joined the cast of Total Divas is the moment I started fast-forwarding past her matches, purely because she is now booked in shit angles against annoying opponents.

Winners: Don’t care, I have no intention of watching this match

Brian: I don’t give a flying F*ck!

Russ: Could be a good match, probably won’t be.

Winner: Paige as she is British

The Ascension (Konnor & Viktor) vs. New Age Outlaws (Billy Gunn & Road Dogg)

Craig: In a remarkably stupid move the WWE buried The Ascension on Raw with the nWo Outlaws and APA getting the upper hand over Konnor and Viktor. That’s right, a group of old guys came out on top against the team that the WWE are promoting. All for a pop and a laugh from the fans. A great idea. The Ascension will win this but this match could have been set up without The Ascension being made to look so stupid.

Winners: The Ascension.

Jamie: Having The Ascension get destroyed by several middle-aged men is certainly an interesting way of getting them over as a credible team. For me they are already doomed, but damage limitation should begin here and they should flatten The Outlaws.

Winners: The Ascension

Brian: After the rather odd way the Ascension were treated like on Raw…it makes this match even more questionable to me. I’ve got to be believe the WWE would would to make the Ascension look really strong here and destroy the New Age Outlaws. On the other hand…they just may put over the NAO because Vince doesn’t like the Ascension.

Winners: The Ascension

Russ: Not really up on this, but I will go NAO everyday of the week.

Winners: New Age Outlaws

WWE World Hvt. Title match: Brock Lesnar (c) vs. John Cena vs. MITB holder Seth Rollins

Craig: I’m glad it’s not Brock vs. Cena Pt. 24894232. Seth Rollins will freshen this up and obviously offers several alternative finishes to the mix. Either Cena or Rollins could win without even pinning the champion. As I think Wrestlemania will see Cena versus Rusev, I can’t look past Brock winning here. Possibly thanks to interference from Rusev – which will set up that programme and prevent Rollins taking a fall and thus protecting him.

Winner: Brock Lesnar

Jamie: Until Seth Rollins was added I had zero interest in the outcome of this match. Logically, Lesnar has to win this. They’ve built him up so much that it wouldn’t make sense for Cena to beat him and head to Wrestlemania, again. The big baddie will get his comeuppance, but only at the big show. As for Rollins – Wrestlemania will be his night, not the Rumble.

Winner, and still WWE Champion: Brock Lesnar

Brian: There are rumors that WWE creative wants Lesnar to drop the title before ‘Mania because fans already know Lesnar’s contract is up after that event. I personally don’t buy that…but if true…I think it’ll happen at the next PPV…Fast Lane. I see Rollins trying to cash in and perhaps get thwarted by Randy Orton or perhaps the Undertaker. Remember this was making the rounds a couple of months ago…

Winner: Brock

Russ: The WWE would be stupid to have Cena going into Wrestlemania as champion. Why is MITB holder Seth Rollins even in this when he could cash in straight after the result?? Brock the monster has to go to Wrestlemania as champ.

Winner, and still WWE Champion: Brock Lesnar

Royal Rumble match to earn WWE World Title shot at WrestleMania 31.

Craig: If it’s not Roman Reigns or Daniel Bryan then I’d be staggered. If it’s Bryan that gets the nod then it’s a year late but if it’s Reigns then it’s arguably a year or so too soon. Still, I think it’ll be Roman Reigns that gets the nod here. The rocket is strapped to his back and he seems like the sort of project that Vince will persevere with. I just hope we don’t get a double win ala 1994 with Bret and Lex…

Winner: Roman Reigns

Jamie: I hate Royal Rumbles when there are only a couple of realistic winners. WWE are desparate for us to all be in love with Roman Reigns, and they can’t avoid the fact that Daniel Bryan is the clear fans’ choice. Having said that, I’m going with a Big Show win! The final two will not be Bryan and Reigns because there’s no way WWE would be stupid enough to let a Philadelphia crowd shit all over Reigns. Thus, I’m going with Reigns and Show as the final two, because who the hell wants The Big Show to win? The Authority will help Show cheat, Sting will get involved at some point on Raw and Reigns will win a match in February to send him to the Wrestlemania main event instead.

Winner: The Big Show

Brian: The WWE needs to be really careful here…because one wrong move and you may have a mutiny of Roman Reigns on your hands like Batista last year. Daniel Bryan will be the obvious favorite by a majority of fans….so if Bryan gets eliminated somehow…it has to be a creatively careful way. Anyway you slice it though…I think Reigns winning is a huge mistake. We shall see.

Winner: Roman Reigns

Russ: I believe Reigns will be avenged from last years result. I like some others have gone a little cold on him recently. Bryan should win but WWE rarely listen to the universe these days. As usual a surprise entrant won’t win it. Shame Kevin Nash or Diesel won’t be taking part.

Winner: Sting (I wish), no seriously it will be Roman Reigns

Craig: I’m looking forward to this. Ultimately, the undercard barely matters a jot on an annual basis. It’s all about the main event. That said, I’m sure the main event will be pretty good. But it’s all about the Rumble and I’ll be tuning in for definite.

Jamie: It’s the Rumble, so long as Kofi Kingston does some cool shit and Mizdow does something funny upon Miz’s elimination I’ll be happy!

Russ: It’s the Rumble, the only must see of the year!

  1. I think Roman Reigns will win as it’s not going to be an enjoyable one. Daniel Bryan should be the one to win and be the one to face Lesnar at WrestleMania for the WWE Championship and as the main event. Unfortunately, it will never happen because Vince is a stupid old-fart.

  2. I hate to sound pessimistic, but I honestly go into every wwe event with the mindset of “let’s see how they manage to screw this up” now. It seems most everyone wants Bryan to go over in the rumble which is why he probably won’t. I swear sometimes I feel like the battered wife who always ends up going back to the abuser. He’s really trying hard to change. He only does it because he loves me. This time It’ll be different. WWE Stockholm syndrome.
