Wrestling With Sin: Forty 4

44Brian Damage

This is the 44th installment of the ‘Wrestling with Sin‘ series. A group of stories that often delves into the darker, seedier side of pro wrestling. Many of these stories involve allegations of sex, drugs, greed and sometimes even murder! As with every single story in the Sin series…We do not condone nor do we condemn the alleged participants and/or victims. We are simply retelling these stories.

It’s All About That Bass…About That Bass…More Trouble

Former ECW and WWF wrestler…Nicole Bass has found herself on the wrong side of the law again. Nicole was recently arrested after she was caught shoplifting over $1,200 worth of groceries at a local New York supermarket. Nicole Bass was charged with petit larceny and possession of stolen property, both misdemeanors. Bass who is also a frequent guest of the Howard Stern show admitted not long ago that she was broke.

Prosecutors have agreed to drop the case as long as Bass stays out of trouble for the next six months and attend a counseling seminar on shoplifting.

Love Hurts

In 2010, the brother of famed luchador La Parka….El Hijo Del Cien Caras aka Eustacio Jimenez Ibarra was sitting in his parked SUV with a female passenger named Adela de Luna Gonzalez. As they were sitting in the SUV right outside Adela’s home….two gunman approached the vehicle and opened fire. Adela was shot five times in the chest, while Hijo del Cien Caras was shot once in the neck. Both died at the spot of the shootings.

While the two assailants were never caught and brought to justice…the story did not end there. Hijo del Cien Caras who was married at the time…was believed by some to be having an affair with Adela at the time of the murders. To make matters worse, Adela and her ex husband were at one time investigated by police for allegedly smuggling goods and dealing drugs out of a nightclub they once owned together. Was it a jealous ex seeking revenge? Sadly, we will probably never know. El Hijo Del Cien Caras was only 34 years old.

The late Luna Vachon was always known as a bit of a bizarre character. According to her, that is one of the main reasons that the adult publications Hustler and Playboy came calling. Luna did indeed pose nude for both magazines early in her career. The actual pictures themselves are almost impossible to come by.

Luna was found dead of an apparent drug overdose at her home in Florida. Some have speculated possibly suicide as she was suffering from bi polar disorder and just a year prior…lost much of her belongings after a fire destroyed her previous home. That of course was never substantiated however.

Fluff Enough

Former Tough Enough contestant Luke Robinson was involved in a small scandal of sorts. The former Tough Enough finalist was involved in a gay oriented wrestling promotion. While Robinson did not do any actually sexual acts….he did some semi graphic homoerotic pictures.

Sad Seed

Shawn McGrath aka ‘Bad Seed’ Shawn Osborne was a former WWE developmental talent from 2006 to 2008. After his release from developmental…Osborne wrestled briefly in the independents before disappearing from a wrestling ring altogether. In January of 2011, Shawn McGrath was found dead from an apparent gun shot wound.

It was determined that McGrath had committed suicide after battling depression. Former WWE diva Stacy Carter and friend of McGrath posted McGrath’s suicide note on Facebook. In the note, McGrath blamed his lack of relationship with his parents, bad relationship choices and his release from the WWE as factors in his suicide. Here is a brief excerpt from the suicide not….

The lack of relationship I have had with my parents and siblings since my childhood along with the end of my WWE dream have also contributed.

He also added that he was not drunk or high while in his suicidal mood…

The only drug I have in my system is Zoloft and it’s a prescription. You can thank the two girls I mentioned at the beginning of this letter as the reason for me taking it. I have never, ever been a “drug guy”. I was never interested in experimenting or using any type of illegal drugs that were just going to mess up my mind further. All of this happening right now is me, sober. No drugs, no alcohol.

Shawn McGrath was only 34 years old.
