Brian Damage & Craig Wilson
It’s that time again as we look back at This Week in Wrestling. In this edition Craig looks ahead to tonight’s Roadblock special on The Network while Brian shares some of the more interesting pictures and videos he’s stumbled upon this week…
WWE Roadblock Preview
For a number of reasons, Roadblock tonight’s WWE Network special, is going to be a hugely significant event in the lead up to WrestleMania 32.
Ultimately, at the extreme end of the scale the WWE could wipe clean the slate, have Dean Ambrose defeat Tripe H to win the WWE title and head into Mania as champ. Could he do it? We asked that very question in last week’s Sunday Sermon. It would be a bold move, certainly, unlikely though I think.
I believe that the one thing we will learn from tonight is a much clearer picture as to what WrestleMania will look like.
So far we really know very little about what will be on the biggest wrestling show of the year, if not biggest WrestleMania ever.
Injuries have robbed the WWE of some of their top names like John Cena, Seth Rollins and Randy Orton and that’s impacted the card that the company have been able to announce.
But there still plenty to keep fans interested and sell a significant amount of the 100, 000 tickets available for the show at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. The buzz around the Shane McMahon and The Undertaker will certainly have provided a boost.
The WWE need tonight to be a very good show in terms of in-ring action and storyline development.
I’m looking forward to it and you should too. But there is a bit of pressure on the WWE but also an opportunity for the company to further sell this year’s WrestleMania.
Perhaps the worst kept secret in pro wrestling….Pat Patterson is “coming out” with a book this Summer.
Take a look at a young, “slim and trim” Yokozuna formerly known as Kokina Maximus.
