Wrestling With Sin: #74

Brian Damage

This is the 74th installment of the ‘Wrestling with Sin‘ series. A group of stories that delves into the darker side of professional wrestling. Many of these stories involve such topics as sex, greed, drugs, arrests and sometimes even murder! As with every single story in the Sin series, we do not condone or condemn the alleged involved. We are simply retelling these stories that have been told throughout the years.

Big Van Vader…The MastoDONG

Recently, a nude pic of Leon “Vader” White appeared on his Twitter page. While his face was not shown, it displayed Vader’s penis. It was almost instantaneously taken down and Vader was quick to apologize and blame an unnamed ex girlfriend for hacking his account.

Vader tweeted: I want to apologize to everyone. My ExGirlfriend hacked my account and sent out an inappropriate picture. Please except my apology.

Some followers were upset with the nude pic and tweeted their disappointment at Vader…he simply replied, U would have to talk to my ex.

No word who the ex is at this time…

Not Everybody Loves Raymond

After spending about 13 years on the independent circuit, Rick Michaels (real name Raymond Rawls) got an opportunity on the biggest stage of them all: the WWE. He wasn’t hired as a professional wrestler though, instead Rawls was hired by the company as a tailor. You see, Rawls was not only a wrestler, but a gifted tailor who created custom ring outfits.

After being highly recommended by his friend Chris Benoit, Ray Rawls was hired by the company in 2004. Rawls made countless ring tights for Benoit and others with favorable reviews. In 2005, however, things took an ugly turn as Raymond Rawls was accused of exposing himself to a minor in his home state of Georgia. Rawls plead guilty on the charge and was immediately fired from the WWE. Rawls continues to wrestle independently and create ring outfits for wrestlers in TNA and the indies.

Down in the Val-ley

SoCal Val was a valet/interviewer for TNA wrestling for over 7 years. During her wrestling career, Playboy magazine asked her to pose nude and Val turned them down. She did pose semi nude in several photoshoots including one with friend and fellow TNA alum Traci Brooks.

In August of 2013, SoCal Val was arrested for a DUI and leaving the scene of an accident in Florida. She posted a bond and was released. Val plead not guilty to the charges and the outcome of the case remains unknown at this time.

Uganda Be Kidding Me?

Back in 1982, ‘The Ugandan Giant’ Kamala had a match with a drunken Andre the Giant. During the match, things got heated between the two big men when Andre allegedly called Kamala a racist word and they two started legitimately “stiffing” each other with real kicks and punches. The match got so heated, that after the match was over, tensions spilled backstage.

According to James Harris aka Kamala…he pulled out a gun and held Andre at gun point threatening to shoot him if Andre ever took liberties on him again. Fearing that Andre would seek retribution from Kamala inside the ring if and when they wrestled again…Harris claims that he hid a loaded gun in a pocket in his wrestling trunks….just in case. Thankfully, the two never had another incident like that again.

Give Credit Where Credit is Due…or Don’t

In 2003, after returning from a tour of Japan, Steve Corino was arrested in Michigan on multiple counts of fraud and forgery. An ex girlfriend of Corino’s alleged that the ‘King of Old School,’ stole credit cards from her and made multiple purchases on them without her consent. She also alleged that Corino wrote a check of $2,100 and forged his ex’s name on the check. Corino allegedly ran up a bill of over $10,000 in fraudulent purchases.

Steve Corino entered a plea of not guilty and was released on bail. If convicted of all the above charges, Corino could have faced up to 117 years in prison. Steve Corino issued a statement on his arrest and here is a portion of it…

As reported correctly, I was arrested in Detroit, Michigan on charges that I forged a $2100 check and used a credit card of an ex-girlfriend of mine without her knowledge. This ex-girlfriend claimed I used her credit card 25 times without her knowledge.

I want to go on public record and tell the world that I at no time was ever involved in any illegal activity and I am looking forward to proving my 100 percent innocence in a court of law. It is a shame that this has happened and I am also looking forward to the truth coming out in this matter as soon as possible.

I apologize to my family, friends, and fans that they have to read negative things about me in the newspaper and Internet. The real truth of this situation will come out in court and I am confident that I will be found innocent of all charges.

The felony charges were eventually dropped against Corino.
