Wrestling with Sin: 99 Problems

Brian Damage

This is the 99th installment of the ‘Wrestling with Sin‘ series. A group of stories that delves into the darker, underbelly of pro wrestling. Many of the stories involve such subjects as sex, drugs, greed and in some cases even murder! As with every single story in the Sin series, I do not condone or condemn the alleged participants. We simply retell their stories by researching interviews, newspapers, magazines and various other sources of media.

Ore-gon With The Wind-ham

According to Billy Jack Haynes, back in the Florida territory days, Haynes caught a young Barry Windham going through his bags. Angry, Haynes began physically roughing up Windham to teach him respect. Windham’s good friend Mike Rotunda jumped in to help Barry out. Rotunda, a collegiate amateur wrestler, took down Haynes and tried to break Billy Jack’s arm.

Several wrestlers had to pull the two men apart backstage. To prevent any type of retaliation from Barry Windham’s father, Blackjack Mulligan, Haynes went to Mulligan and explained what had happened between him and Mulligan’s son. According to Haynes, Mulligan laughed it off and said Barry was a grown man and could fight his own battles. Barry and Billy Jack never had another confrontation again after that.

Marty Jannetty took to social media in the fall of 2016 to rant about his ex-friend, fellow wrestler Sean Casey and his ex-girl and valet Tracy. According to Jannetty, Tracy had allegedly bad-mouthed Jannetty to several mutual friends. Jannetty returned the favor by revealing that Sean Casey was “gay” and that he carried on an affair with Tracy while she was still with Casey in their own home

In all fairness to Tracy and Sean Casey, they haven’t responded to Jannetty’s social media outburst. Jannetty has had issues in the past with booze and this could have been a drunken rant. Jannetty, however, did not stop at just those posts. The next night he continued to badmouth both Casey and Tracy.

Tracy is a whore..lol..Im just kidding yall,,wait, no I aint shes a tramp ass whore..lol..its funn aint itt bitch?? play with a ninjas heart..lil bitch..and Sean Casey..stop putting dick in yo neck..lil fagg

hey yall, I’m sorry my emotions got the best of me earlier today..I didnt mean some of the stuff I said..in fact, Sean Casey sucks a mean dick..so, he’ll be WWE Champion soon..Im not gonna ask him to swallow even though he’ll insist…hey though, one brother told me, kids read this..and I appreciated him letting me know, don’t say these things on here..so..thank you bruh..Imma take this down in a few minutes..let me have a few minutes though..loves ya bruh..thank you for telling me what you said..

In 2008, former WWE Global Licensing Coordinator Fara D’Angelo filed a sexual harassment lawsuit against the WWE alleging that another WWE executive named Alex Romer sexually harassed her for over two years. In court documents, D’Angelo said she would receive late night phone calls and texts from Romer, who was married, asking for sex. D’Angelo went to human resources with complaints and she felt she was brushed off and told to “switch jobs.” Two years after the initial lawsuit, the two sides agreed to a settlement out of court.

In 2010, it was reported by Irv Muchnick that executive vice president and general counsel Jared Bartie was suspended by the WWE for inappropriately flirting with a female employee of WWE sales at a Wrestlemania 24 weekend party in Arizona. The suspension quickly became a termination after the scandal became more public according to sources.

The WWE and Bartie have denied the allegations as totally false and have stated that Jared Bartie departed the company amicably. As for the unnamed female accuser, it was reported that she was later terminated for performing oral sex on another WWE employee during business hours.

Ted and Buried

In February of 2008, after a long night of partying and boozing Ted Dibiase Jr. got behind the wheel of his car. Not long after, Dibiase fell asleep at the wheel and when he awoke was bloodied with his air bag deployed. Dibiase was involved in a head-on collision with another vehicle.

When police arrived on the scene, they administered a field sobriety test and had a blood/alcohol level of 0.138. He was arrested on the scene. Thankfully, neither he or the other driver were seriously injured. Dibiase was later released on bond and was eventually sued by the other driver.

Bourne to Run

Former WWE wrestler Matt Sydal aka Evan Bourne was arrested at Kansai Airport in Japan in September of 2016. Authorities discovered that Sydal had a little over 2 grams of liquid marijuana in an electronic cigarette. Sydal was arrested and charged with drug possession. Japan has extremely strict drug laws and his arrest could jeopardize his wrestling career in that country.

The Eagle Has Landed

In December of 1955, pro wrestler Chief Don Eagle was arrested and charged with battery as he allegedly punched out his landlady in a rent dispute. Eagle was later released on a $1,000 bond and ordered to pay a $25 fine. Don Eagle appealed the fine but was forced to pay it anyway.
