This is the 156th installment of the ‘Wrestling with Sin‘ series. A group of stories that delves into the darker, underbelly of pro wrestling. Many of the stories involve such subjects as sex, drugs, greed and in some cases even murder! As with every single story in the Sin series, I do not condone or condemn the alleged participants. We simply retell their stories by researching interviews, newspapers, magazines and various other sources of media.
During the pinnacle of Terry Gordy’s career in Japan, he, along with friend Ted Dibiase, were invited to the home of a very well to do and “connected” Japanese couple. The couple were very big fans of Gordy and offered him a bottle of Jack Daniels whiskey as a gift. Ted Dibiase immediately knew how rowdy Gordy gets when under the influence of alcohol and was legitimately worried. The Japanese couple had big-time connections politically and in other places.
If Gordy insulted them in any way, it could mean the end of their careers in Japan or even worse. Terry Gordy wound up drinking the entire bottle that night and began to get a tad bit too rambunctious. Dibiase fearing for their livelihoods grabbed Gordy and excused themselves from the couples home. On the cab ride back to their hotel, Gordy began harassing the cab driver trying to pick a fight.
When they arrived at the hotel, Gordy passed out on the sidewalk and Dibiase had to carry Gordy up to their room in a luggage cart. As Dibiase was placing the key in Gordy’s hotel room door, Gordy got up and punched Dibiase in the back of his head. The key broke off in the lock and several hotel employees tried unsuccessfully to get the broken piece of key out of the door. The hotel management gave Gordy a spare room to sleep in and the next morning, Gordy forgotten everything that happened the night before.

Bate and Switch
Former WWE United Kingdom Champion Tyler Bate was allegedly involved in a bit of a scandal. Apparently, his cell phone was hacked and somebody leaked a conversation Bate had on the dating app known as ‘Tinder.’ Below is the conversation Bate supposedly had with a transgendered woman about possibly hooking up…
Tyler Bate also had some nude and semi-nude pics of himself leaked online. Bate was dating fellow wrestler and former Mae Young Classic competitor Toni Storm. She had allegedly cheated on Bate with a wrestler by the name of Chris Ridgeway.
Tyler Bate and Toni Storm have since split up.
An independent wrestler from the Mississippi and Tennessee areas named “Chris Cade” was arrested in March of 2017. He is being charged with both rape and domestic violence/Simple assault. According to reports, Cade went into a local Mississippi sheriff’s office looking for work. An unidentified woman was also there at the time to report being raped.
The woman recognized Cade and identified him as the alleged assailant. Chris Cade was questioned and soon arrested in the case. A judge set bond at $25,000 which Cade reportedly posted. Chris Cade is innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. If Cade is convicted, he could face up to 30 years in prison.
When Ohio Valley Wrestling (OVW) was still a WWE developmental territory, there was an incident involving a young Brock Lesnar and OVW manager Kenny Bolin. Bolin and Lesnar were good friends for a period of time, with Bolin having Lesnar over his house several times to eat and watch wrestling pay per views. That all came to an abrupt end during an OVW show.
Kenny Bolin was playfully flirting with Brock Lesnar’s then-girlfriend and Lesnar inexplicably exploded. Lesnar got in Bolin’s face and started screaming at him. Bolin apologized but was confused by Lesnar’s reaction considering he thought they were all friends. Lesnar then “pie-faced” Kenny Bolin, which sent the manager backwards into a bunch of folding chairs. A fellow developmental wrestler and former MMA fighter Sylvester Terkay got wind of what was happening and confronted Lesnar. Brock allegedly backed down from the more experienced fighter in Terkay and the issue ended.
