Wrestling With Sin: 181

This is the 181st installment of the ‘Wrestling with Sin‘ series. A group of stories that delves into the darker, underbelly of pro wrestling. Many of the stories involve such subjects as sex, drugs, greed and in some cases even murder! As with every single story in the Sin series, I do not condone or condemn the alleged participants. We simply retell their stories by researching interviews, newspapers, magazines and various other sources of media.

Put Up LeDuc’s

One night, Dusty Rhodes went out drinking with Dick Slater, Louis Tillet, Paul and Jos LeDuc. After awhile, the group of friends got pretty drunk and things started taking a turn for the worse. While Dusty was sitting in the passenger seat of a parked car with Dick Slater at the wheel, Jos LeDuc reached in the car and open hand slapped Rhodes across the face.

Dusty got angry and grabbed a full bottle of wine and cracked LeDuc in the forehead with it. LeDuc jumped on the hood of Slater’s car in anger and Slater decided to drive off. The problem was LeDuc refused to let go and get off the hood, so Slater started driving faster and faster. Dusty claims the car was going over 70 miles per hour and LeDuc didn’t budge.

Slater then hit the brakes and LeDuc flew off the car into a ditch on the side of the road. Jos stayed motionless for a bit and the other wrestlers started to panic that he might be seriously hurt. They all got out of the car to check on LeDuc and he eventually came to. LeDuc seemingly uninjured, got up and started laughing hysterical.

Melina-choly

Former WWE wrestler and manager Melina Perez took to social media to reveal that she was once raped. She said the sexual assault occurred when she was in her 20’s. While Melina was an active member of WWE’s roster at the time, she did not specify where it happened and who was the rapist.

She does say that the rape caused her life to go into a tailspin. She admitted that she went into a deep depression and became suicidal. Luckily for her, she overcame her depression and moved on with her life and is much happier now.

Lewd Boy

A New York independent wrestler named James ‘Rude Boy’ Riley was arrested in March of 2017 for possession of child pornography. Riley had just had a WWE tryout at their performance center the month prior. Rude Boy was charged with 10 counts of promoting a sexual performance by a child and 20 counts of possessing a sexual performance by a child .

Riley had posted several images of underage children on his Tumblr and Google accounts and somebody tipped the police off to his online activity. When police searched his phone, they allegedly found even more images of underage children in lewd acts including infants. Riley made bail at $3,500 and was expected back in court to face the charges against him.

Thunder Struck

Joel Jones was a wrestler for in Jim Crockett Promotions back in the 1980’s. He was known during that time as a masked wrestler named ‘Thunder Foot #1.’ He just finished his match in South Carolina on Christmas Day in 1987 when tragedy struck. After his match, Joel hopped in his car in his full ring gear, mask an all and took off.

While driving, Joel was removing his mask. In doing so, Joel blew a red light and hit another car head on. In a panic, Joel Jones took off and left the scene. The driver of the other vehicle died in the crash. The incident made the local news and Joel was immediately fired from Jim Crockett Promotions.

The Mile Kai Club

Former NWA and WWF Women’s champion Leilani Kai was picking up some fellow wrestlers at an airport. She was stopped and searched by airport security and they discovered that she was carrying a hand gun. She was subsequently arrested and placed in jail. She was eventually bailed out by promoter Bill Watts.

Fan Fury

During an independent show in Texcoco, Mexico in 1996, luchadors Latin Boy and Furia Latina were in the crowd wrestling. An overzealous fan pulled out a gun and fired shots that struck both wrestlers. Furia Latina’s wounds were the most serious and he eventually died. The wrestlers were in real life brothers. Furia Latina was just 26 years old.
