Make no mistake about it, pro wrestling does have a dark side to it. There are hundreds upon hundreds of stories about the dark and sometimes sinister side as chronicled in my ‘Wrestling with Sin‘ series. This piece is a direct opposite of that. With every bad story I have shared…there are also positive stories. Stories of wrestlers making it above and beyond the ring. Positive stories to inspire. Pro wrestlers aren’t all drug addicts, scam artists and carny sideshows. They all don’t die at an early age, or are broke and need to wrestle till they die. They don’t necessarily have to get into acting like The Rock or Batista. They don’t have to necessarily switch over to MMA like Brock Lesnar or CM Punk. Some of these stories are just about hard work, dreaming big and doing whatever it takes to succeed. We’ve already covered some stories as chronicled in part 1, part 2 , part 3 part 4part 5 , part 6 and part 7. With that said, let’s look at some positives…

It isn’t just for what he has accomplished inside the squared circle, but the lifestyle he chose for himself outside of it. There have been many women who have been in and out of Flair’s life. Some for a couple of hours and others for a few years. No doubt, many females have taken a ride on ‘Space Mountain.’ When it comes to marriages, Flair’s exes are starting to give his world title reigns a run for their money.

In the summer of 1985, things were really heating up in the World Wrestling Federation. Vince McMahon’s national expansion was well underway, Hulkamania was running wild and a wrestler deemed the ‘top free agent in all of professional wrestling’ had his sights on the WWF. The free agent in question was none other than the ‘Macho Man’ Randy Savage. The WWE has been known to push the envelope from time to time with some of their gimmicks and storylines. While some have been crude and at times downright offensive, Vince McMahon was never fearful of taking chances. Heck, as the old saying goes, bad publicity is just as good as good publicity….or something like that.
