In a Raw that looked good on paper, the main event saw Austin and Mankind team up to face The Rock and The Undertaker. Over on Nitro the card for Starrcade begins to take shape and Bam Bam Bigelow is booked in the main event.

‘Monday Night Wars’ continues with the episodes of Raw and Nitro from 12 October 1998. There’s an 8 man Intercontinental Title tournament on Raw after Triple H is stripped of the belt. Over on Nitro there was main event of dream match proportions as former ‘Blade Runners’ partners Sting and Warrior teamed up to face Hollywood Hogan and Bret Hart.

We can say what we want about the WWF’s ‘Attitude Era,’ some loved it…some hated it. Each person has valid points as to why that particular era in wrestling history was both good and bad. One of the positives of that era was the success it generated for certain wrestlers who may not have succeeded otherwise.

It’s not to say these wrestlers were awful…just that the opportunities might not have been there without that era in place. It allowed these men and women to go above and beyond normal restrictions and become mega stars…even if it was for a brief time period. Continue reading
