Superstation WTBS and professional wrestling….it went together like peanut butter and jelly. From Georgia Championship Wrestling to World Championship Wrestling (With a brief cameo from the World Wrestling Federation as well) wrestling has been a big part of TBS’ programming through the years. In 1992, TBS celebrated 20 years of pro wrestling on the super station. He started out his wrestling career as a walk on for WWE’s developmental territory Ohio Valley Wrestling as an unsigned talent. He eventually was signed by WWE and became a wrestler/talk show host/manager who made it up to the main roster. Atlas Falls: The Story of a Wrestling Superstar Going From Riches to Rags

Tony Atlas was known by many nicknames, ‘Mr. USA,’ ‘The Black Superman,’ ‘Black Atlas’ but there was no denying that during the 1970’s and 80’s, he was a pro wrestling superstar. Atlas had a physique that seemed it was chiseled out of granite. He was one half of the first ever African American WWF tag team champions along with Rocky Johnson in the Soul Patrol.
