Brian Damage
This is the 128th installment of the ‘Wrestling with Sin‘ series. A group of stories that delves into the darker, underbelly of pro wrestling. Many of the stories involve such subjects as sex, drugs, greed and in some cases even murder! As with every single story in the Sin series, I do not condone or condemn the alleged participants. We simply retell their stories by researching interviews, newspapers, magazines and various other sources of media. Continue reading

Return to Sender: Failed Repackaged Wrestlers
Brian Damage
It is something that is not uncommon in pro wrestling. A booker or promoter feels that a certain gimmick is getting old and decides to repackage a wrestler with a brand new gimmick. The wrestler may or may not be taken off TV for a few months to make fans try and forget the initial gimmick. Don’t forget, before he was the party man Adam Rose…he was a psychotic hunter named Leo Kruger. Continue reading
The use of racism and stereotypes in wrestling

Both seem like perfectly sensible moves and I certainly see a lot of value in the WWE adding international stars to the roster particularly established ones like these. That said, it does make me wonder if they will follow the long list of international stars that have joined the WWE but have been saddled with stereotypical gimmicks. Continue reading
On Your Mark: The AWF Experiment
Brian Damage
Money Mark// noun// Definition: Someone who invests money into a promotion or starts a promotion to rub shoulders with pro wrestlers.
There have been quite a few “money marks” in the business of pro wrestling since the dawn of time. Some would even go as far as to say that Dixie Carter of TNA is a classic example of one. If a photo was needed to illustrate the definition however, then you may see a picture of Paul Alperstein next to it.
Who was Paul Alperstein? He was a very successful Chicago business man who in 1994, led a group of investors to start a brand new wrestling organization….the AWF. No, it didn’t stand for “Another Wrestling Failure” or was short for AWFul….although both would be quite fitting. It stood for American Wrestling Federation and they were going to revolutionize professional wrestling. Continue reading
