Matt Granahan might not be a name too familiar to pro wrestling fans. He has wrestled on the independent circuits, but is more notable for ventures outside of the squared circle. He’s done MMA, a broadcaster, a cornerman, lawyer, author and podcaster. He is brash, arrogant, confident, has money, power and has been nicknamed ‘the Diva Smasher’ for his flings with women in the pro wrestling business. Granahan made news a couple of years ago for getting into a real life feud with Ric Flair over Flair’s wife Wendy Barlow. Today we talk to the ‘King of Connecticut’ himself Matt Granahan.

Bear With Me: Steve ‘Mongo’ McMichael Becomes a Member of the Four Horsemen

When talking about the legendary faction known as the Four Horsemen, fans can’t help but bring up members of the group that perhaps had no business holding up the four fingers. Individuals, that should have been steered clear of the elite group of wrestlers. The most mentioned name is Paul Roma, who was a last minute addition after Tully Blanchard legitimately failed a drug test. After that, names like Sid Vicious, Jeff Jarrett are considered. Then, there is the ex NFL player turned pro wrestler….Steve ‘Mongo’ McMichael that gets a lot of votes. While not a fan favorite of the Horsemen fandom, he was a big favorite of the members themselves. This is his story.

Happy new year! Well, the day has finally arrived; today marks the end of our 1997 timeline. It sounds like a cliché to say that all previous Meanwhile, in WCW posts have been building towards this one, but they really have. This week WCW reached its zenith by presenting Starrcade 1997, the highest grossing pay per view the company ever produced.
