Wrestling With Sin: S7venty

70

Brian Damage

This is the 70th installment of the ‘Wrestling with Sin‘ series. A group of stories that delves into the darker, underbelly of pro wrestling. Many of the stories involves such subjects as sex, drugs, greed and in some cases even murder! As with every single story in the Sin series…I do not condone or condemn the alleged participants. We simply retell their stories by researching interviews, newspapers, magazines and various other sources of media.

She’s Elektra-fying

Former ECW vixen Elektra had her share of fans and haters. Danny Doring who was once managed by Elektra said that she would no show several shows for no reason at all. She seemingly got special treatment from Paul Heyman back in the day. Which caused resentment from some in the locker room.

Bada Bing

While known by wrestling fans as “Elektra” of ECW…she is also well known in the adult gentleman’s club industry as a bartender and dancer. She has also been in a few episodes of the Sopranos when the show filmed at Satin Dolls which was known on the show as The Bada Bing. Elektra also posed nude in the pages of Playboy, when the magazine did a story on the women of the Bada Bing.

Juvi-nile Delinquent

juventud_guerrera

Back in 2009, famed luchador Juventud Guerrera attempted to make a comeback to AAA wrestling in Mexico. Guerrera, who is no stranger to controversy…was embroiled in yet another one here. Depending on who’s story you believe, Juvi contends that he was jumped by Konnan and Jack Evans during a March show for no apparent reason. While Juvi admits that he has had heat with Konnan through the years, he insists he was on his best behavior during this tour.

After a match, he allegedly found his gym bag moved and discovered that somebody defecated inside of it. When he went to track down the perpetrator, he was blindsided by both Konnan and Jack Evans. He suffered a broken nose and a whole lot of bumps and bruises in the attack.

Konnan and Jack Evans had a different story. According to them, Juvi was acting like Juvi…meaning he was acting like a spoiled brat and treating others poorly. Konnan insisted he had no idea who shit in Juventud’s gym bag…but Juvi immediately accused Konnan of the deed and started yelling and screaming in Konnan’s face.

Others have claimed that Juvi got into the face of Jack Evans and bit him at which time, Evans grabbed Juvi and beat the heck out of him by himself. Regardless of whose story is 100% true, we do know that Juvi then went to AAA’s owners and complained and then went to the media to air his grievances.

Hell Hath No Fury

evelynStevens

Evelyn Stevens was a female wrestler from the 1960’s to the early 1980’s. She did wrestle for the WWF at one time defeating Fabulous Moolah for the women’s title…but the title victory was never acknowledged by the company. She did date the late, great Wahoo McDaniel at one time. According to Dave Meltzer, she once viciously assaulted Wahoo at a bar when she suspected him of cheating on her.

Years later, she would marry a bodybuilder/gym owner and jealousy would rear its ugly head yet again. Evelyn suspected her husband of having an affair and allegedly took a gun from their home and shot her husband in the face killing him. Evelyn Stevens was charged with manslaughter. There are other stories that her husband was physically abusive but of course, none of these accusations could be confirmed. What we do know, is that Evelyn Stevens has served time or is still serving time in a Texas prison.

Drug Maven

MavenToughEnough

Former WWE Tough Enough winner and former WWE wrestler Maven Huffman was arrested in 2012 for “doctor shopping.” Doctor Shopping is a term meaning Maven Huffman went to different doctors trying to get prescriptions for the same injury. In total, Maven allegedly went to 3 doctors in a 2 week span and obtained over 1,000 pain pills which consisted of Oxycontin and Hydrocodone.

Maven was released on a $2,000 bond and went into a WWE sponsored rehabilitation clinic for his addiction.

    • Agree totally. What an insult it must have been for the actual WWF wrestlers to have treated these “superstars”–who couldn’t wrestle their way out of a paper bag–to be ordered by Vince to put them over. Remember Taker selling for Maven at the 2002 Royal Rumble? What an insult, not just for Taker, but for Mark Calaway himself. The Miz isn’t a great wrestler by a far shot, no matter how many times they put a belt on him (he’s been the IC champ, what 835 times now?), but he is a personality, and that’s where his true talent lies. He needs to just give up the boots and be a commentator.

      • I do agree that the Miz has a lot of personality and is good on the mic but as a wrestler, he’s mediocre. As for Maven, he just flat-out fucking sucked and it was a good thing he got his ass kicked by Taker a year later.
