This is the 282nd installment of the ‘Wrestling with Sin‘ series. A group of stories that delves into the darker, underbelly of pro wrestling. Many of the stories involve such subjects as sex, drugs, greed and in some cases even murder! As with every single story in the Sin series, I do not condone or condemn the alleged participants. We simply retell their stories by researching interviews, newspapers, magazines and various other sources of media.

Strongbow Strong arm

In the middle of a red hot feud with then WWF champion Hulk Hogan…’The Ugandan Giant’ Kamala was backstage before a sold out crowd during a house show. Hogan approached Kamala about the finish of the match and according to Kamala, Hogan suggested that Kamala pin him in a non title match. Hulk apparently felt that the pin would elevate the feud further the next time the two wrestled for the title.

Kamala loved the idea and agreed to the finish. When Hulk went to wrestler/road agent ‘Chief’ Jay Strongbow to tell him about the finish…Strongbow asked to speak with Hulk in private. Kamala said he listened by the door and overheard Strongbow allegedly tell Hogan that he shouldn’t do a job to Kamala. First and foremost, fans paid to see Hogan win and secondly….they didn’t come to see Hogan job to some “n—er.” Hulk then approached Kamala and tried to sugarcoat the situation by telling Kamala that Vince McMahon already planned the finish of the match.

DUI – Daffney Under the Influence

Former WCW and TNA valet/wrestler Shannon Spruill better known to wrestling fans as ‘Daffney’ was arrested in Florida in July of 2011. She was charged with DUI and causing property damage worth up to $4,500. Her blood/alcohol levels were was more than twice the legal limit. She was released on a 500 dollar bond by friend and fellow wrestler Stevie Richards.

Two months later, Daffney plead ‘No Contest’ to her DUI charge in court. The judge in the case ordered her to attend DUI classes, gave her 12 months probation and ordered her to pay damages and costs of $1,080.

High Jack

Jack Sherry was Yugoslavian born farmer turned professional wrestler from the 1930’s and 40’s. He was discovered by wrestling great Stanislaus Zbyszko. Sherry had great success wrestling all over the world including Europe and South America. In 1947, however, Sherry found himself on the wrong side of the law. He was arrested for allegedly shoplifting a couple of pills from a drugstore. Jack Sherry had to pay a fine of 100 dollars and was released from custody.

Gulak of Self Control?

Independent wrestler/trainer Rory Gulak has been removed as a trainer for the promotion called Chikara in what was classified as “misconduct.’ Rory is also the younger brother of WWE star Drew Gulak. Ever since Chikara cut ties with Gulak, a few other promotions dropped some of his bookings as well. Rory has since deleted his Twitter page.

The question remains…..what exactly did Gulak do? Several people on Twitter have accused Rory Gulak of allegedly sleeping with underage fans and viewing child pornography. As of this writing, Gulak has not been arrested or charged with anything. An investigation into the matter is still ongoing.
