Wrestling With Sin: 198

Brian Damage

This is the 198th installment of the ‘Wrestling with Sin‘ series. A group of stories that delves into the darker, underbelly of pro wrestling. Many of the stories involve such subjects as sex, drugs, greed and in some cases even murder! As with every single story in the Sin series, I do not condone or condemn the alleged participants. We simply retell their stories by researching interviews, newspapers, magazines and various other sources of media.

Big City Bruise

On November 19th, 1957 at New York City’s famed Madison Square Garden, a tag team match between Edouard Carpentier and Antonino Rocca versus Dick the Bruiser and Dr. Jerry Graham turned violent in more ways than one. Rocca became bloodied during the match by Dick the Bruiser and the crowd of about 13,000 went crazy. Fans started throwing beer bottles, wooden chairs and some began charging the ring to get at the heels of Dick the Bruiser and Dr. Jerry Graham. Two police officers were injured in the riot when bottles struck them on their heads.

Fans started charging the ring to try and get to Graham who was being helped by his adversary Edouard Carpentier. The two were being hit with debris including umbrellas…while they were both fighting off the rioters. 330 additional police officers were dispatched to the Garden to assist police and security already involved in the riot. Antonino Rocca had to get on the public address system and ask the fans to calm down and disperse.

Jerry Graham’s sequined robe valued at the time at about $300 was stolen during the melee. When it was all said and done, three men were arrested for their part in the rioting. A couple hundred chairs were destroyed, small fires lit throughout the Garden had to be extinguished by the fire department and all four wrestlers were fined by the New York State Athletic Commission. The next scheduled wrestling show at Madison Square Garden was also cancelled.

X-Pac Heat

Sean ‘X-Pac’ Waltman met infamous porn star Jenna Jameson at a meet and greet in Pittsburgh. It all seemed innocent enough until former WCW announcer Mark Madden called him up on his cell phone. Madden, who was friends with both X-Pac and Jameson….relayed the message that Jenna would like to see him again. X-Pac ditched his friends Triple H and Chyna to go meet up with the porn star.

Waltman admits that he took a few tabs of acid to “get in the mood” and met Jenna at a club where she was performing at. Jenna apparently took Waltman onstage with her and they proceeded to make out. Waltman says the two then went back to her hotel and went on to say “had the best sex of his entire life.”

Hoosier Daddy?

Former TNA wrestler Chase Stevens was arrested in February of 2018 and charged with battery. The victim….former WWE star ‘Grand Master Sexay’ Brian Christopher. According to reports, Christopher stumbled around a hotel lobby in Indiana all bloody and beaten. Police were called and Christopher was found inebriated and admitted to taking several pills during the course of the day. Brian Christopher told police that Chase Stevens had assaulted him back in the hotel room because Stevens allegedly felt that Chrisssopher was hitting on Stevens girlfriend.

When cops entered the hotel room of the alleged attack…they found blood on the carpet, splattered blood on the wall, on the bed sheets and a bloody tissue in the garbage pail. Chase amitted to hitting Brian Christopher twice, but stated it was all in self defense. Brian Christopher suffered several broken bones in his face, broken teeth and several lacerations on his face. Chase Stevens was arrested at the scene and was released later after posting bond.

This isn’t the first time Chase Stevens has been arrested. He was arrested on three separate occasions from 2013 to 2015 on varying charges such as DUI, reckless driving and domestic assault. Brian Christopher has stated that he will require surgery to repair his injuries and will press charges against Stevens.

Blow Your (Hay)Stacks

Giant Haystacks was a very popular wrestler from the United Kingdom from the 1970’s and 1980’s. He wrestled all over the world including Calgary Stampede in Canada and WCW (Under the name Loch Ness) here in the states. His most memorable feud during his career was against ‘Big Daddy’ Crabtree in the U.K. He along with Crabtree were two of the biggest stars on the U.K.’s television program World of Sport.

When the television show was abruptly canceled in 1985, Giant Haystacks did not take the news very well. He allegedly stormed to the TV offices and demanded to speak to the executive behind the decision to cancel the show. Haystacks allegedly threatened to do bodily harm to the executive…but was thankfully restrained and left the office. No arrest was ever made in the incident.

Pro Wrestling is No Coke Walk

At the height of Justin Credible’s career….he was a main event talent that was the reigning ECW champion. Credible says he was making a lot of money (By ECW standards) and even had his own dressing room. Credible admits this was at the height of his drug addiction. He says that almost every time he was introduced to the ring as ECW champion….Credible would do several lines of cocaine to get himself hyped up for his matches. He said, because he had his own dressing room….Credible would leave his mounds of coke out in the open. He felt secure in that nobody would dare walk in there and steal his stash.

  1. MSG Riot of 1957 would been recorded if not for outdated cameras being bad, Giant Haystacks is too fat to go to jail, and Credible was an associate to the Kliq so at least he followed their footsteps a little too much.
